Am really hurt by the poor workmanship at the Banana Buspark. The work which had looked perfect on completion could not sustain the
weight of the buses the very first day they were allowed to enter the buspark. The
ground started to sink wherever the wheels passed. It showed either poor
compacting or poor quality of materials used underneath. I blamed the
contractor and the engineer. They are back to redo the work again.
However, my greatest bitterness came from a comment from one
of the aspiring candidates for an MCA, who intimated that the poor work was as a result of
the current MCA being given kickback and therefore the contractor had not enough money
to do a good work. Although I gave him a piece of my mind, I wish to make this
issue public.
That I have offered this particular candidate, and indeed
anybody else, who would be interested, an amount of Ksh, 100,000/= as a reward
if they come up with a single instant where I have ever taken a bribe to
corrupt a service am supposed to offer, shared in any loot involving public
funds in any way, received a kickback from a contractor, or any other person
ever in my life or as an MCA.
Infact I had initially offered him Ksh. 50,000/= but I decided to help him do a thorough professional investigation which might require some money and I therefore added another 50,000/=.
I admit being corrupt is like the normal way in Kenya, and not being corrupt is a temptation you even need to pray to overcome but I have vowed to remain extraordinary.

Even before I was elected, I knew what corruption had done
to our country, the suffering millions of people go through, the deaths,
starvation and poor services, rampant unemployment and all the injustices brought about
by corruption.
I made a covenant with my God that I shall never involve myself in it. Though it comes with challenges, such as being regarded as foolish, primitive, and out of touch with reality, it requires prayers and a strong heart to tell a bribe giver you are not interested in the million shillings he is offering.

One
day a friend attempted to punch me, because of the foolishness I portrayed by
refusing to take what he was salivating for. But the good thing about it is
that, I can show and take pride of the results of being anti-corrupt to myself
and to my Karuri people and the projects I undertake for them.
One day, soon, I will
write a book, and it shall really be interesting.
